I wanted to post an update to my VMware, Vista and VPN. Disabling the USB
controller did not fix my problem. It appeared to be working briefly,
but the problem came back. I did some research, and I found an
interesting post on the VMware forums about the same problem
happening with AMD dual-core processors. My laptop has an Intel Core 2
Duo processor, but since the problem seems to be with the dual-core part
I figured it might be worth trying their solution. To cut to the chase,
I added the following line to the .vmx file for my virtual machine:
processor1.use = "FALSE"
That did the trick. I have been running my VM all day long and the clock
has stayed in sync with the host the entire time.
