2024 Favorite Books

Another year has come and gone. This wasn’t a good year for reading for me, but I did read a few books that I think are worth mentioning.

Favorite Books 2024

  • Atomic Habits: Tiny Changes, Remarkable Results - This book provides insight into why we have bad habits, and practical advice on how to stop our bad habits and replace them with new habits.
  • Dungeon Crawler Carl - This was a surprisingly deep book, considering the premise begins with an alien invasion that converts Earth into an underground dungeon and pits the survivors against each other in an intergalactic reality show.
  • The Color Of Magic - I’ve been going back to read classic science fiction and fantasy novel that I missed growing up, and the first book in Terry Pratchett’s “Discworld” series of fantasy novels did not disappoint.
  • Dragonflight - Similar to the previous book, this was the first time entering the world of the “Dragonriders of Pern”, and I am eager to read more of Anne McCaffrey’s novels in the Pern universe.
  • Why Do I Do What I Don’t Want to Do?: Replace Deadly Vices with Life-Giving Virtues - This book looks at ways to get rid of bad habits and vices, and to replace them by practicing Biblical virtues.
  • How to Take Smart Notes - This book is a guide to learning the Zettelkasten method of taking notes, and how to build your own personal knowledge repository.

That’s a wrap for this year. Hopefully 2025 will be a better year and I will make time to read more books.
