Emanote Upgrade

Emanote 2.0.0.0 Upgrade

Over the weekend I upgraded the version of Emanote to the latest available. (2.0.0.0 as I’m writing this.) After upgrading everything was working locally, but when I ran the generator and uploaded to my website, it wasn’t rendering correctly due to some missing CSS. It turns out this is new behavior in Emanote 2.0.0.0 and Tailwind v4. I have been using a relative path to specify the output directory when I execute emanote gen ./public. In previous versions this worked fine, but in this version it causes Tailwind to resolve that path relative to the stylesheet itself. This causes the generated stylesheets to be built with missing data needed to render correctly.

The fix is fairly simple. Replacing the relative path with an absolute path gets Tailwind to generate the CSS files correctly. Now it renders correctly both locally with emanote run, and with emanote gen $PWD/public.

Maybe this will save someone else several frustrating hours trying to figure this out. Shout out to Google Gemini for helping me diagnose the root cause and providing the solution.
