Open Source Licensing

There have been a few additional articles posted in the aftermath of the Red Hat that seek to dismiss the importance of open source licenses and software freedom in the current climate. I’m not going to name names or link to any of the articles as I find them disingenuous and intellectually dishonest. I’d rather not give them any attention or Google juice.

In the interests of critical thinking, if you are reading an article downplaying open source licensing, and the author has a history of working for companies that used open source to build a community and get free labor before performing a licensing rug pull and switching to a non-free license, you might want to question their agenda and motives.
