Weekly Journal 91 - Docker, RSS

Docker

In a predictable follow-on from the licensing bait-and-switch last year, Docker is now raising the price of Docker Desktop subscriptions and changing the license again to force more users into pricier Business subscriptions. The fun part is they only gave three weeks notice. Any medium or large company I have ever worked with requires more time than that to get through the procurement process. I have zero interest in supporting a company that resorts to these sorts of extortion tactics.

Corporate RSS

I’ve been noticing a frustrating trend with tech company blogs. Several that I used to follow have removed the RSS feeds from their blog site. I have better things to do with my time than to manually check a website for updates, so this means I will no longer be reading their content. I really don’t understand the thinking here.
